Hickathrift Press authors Andrew Stephen and Victoria Burman will be signing copies of their books at this year’s Barton Bendish Arts & Craft Exhibition over the weekend of September 19-20.
Andrew will be selling and signing copies of his autobiographical Reading, Writing & Redemption, and his poetry books Endless River, The Story In Your Eyes and Under A Norfolk Sky, as well as his best-selling books about his beloved Cambridge United, including the newly-released The Season That Really Was, which documents the nail-biting 2025-26 season, in which the U’s won promotion to League One.
With him will be Victoria Burman, whose hilarious Uplifting Odes was Hickathrift’s Christmas best-seller in 2025. It’s hoped that illustrator Sharton Langley also be able to attend, selling Uplifting Odes-themed prints and mugs.
Fans of Andrew and Victoria are also encouraged to bring along books they already own, to be signed by their favourite authors.
This popular annual event helps raise much-needed funds for the Norfolk village’s St Andrew’s Church and the Village Hall.
Barton Bendish is situated in South West Norfolk, half a mile off the A1122 Downham Market-Swaffham road.
Organisers of the Arts & Craft weekend say: “There will be a range of crafts to buy in the church, including glassware, pottery, jewellery, ornaments and books. Getting tables for this event is always very popular, but there are still some available.
“Bookings must be made by September 1. Artists will exhibit in the Village Hall, where light refreshments will also be available.
“There is always a huge range of paintings and photographs to see and to buy. On Saturday the event is open to the public between 10 am and 4 pm and on the Sunday between 11 am and 4 pm. If you like beautiful things or are looking for unusual and personal gifts, this event is ideal.”
